WWW.ELLE.COM – Heigl, dressed in a sleeveless black Packham dress with Swarovski crystal detailing, sat beside Vanessa Hudgens and Olympic gold medal gymnast Aly Raisman. They watched as Packham sent a series of shimmering, crystal-encrusted column gowns and feminine, full-skirted chiffon dresses down the runway. The outfits were accessorized with elegant slingback heels, soft, low ponytails and minimal makeup.

We chatted with the British designer backstage.

“The collection was based on a painting I saw of the mid-17th century salons in Paris, where intelligent women would gather to discuss the arts and politics and sit on lounges with these wonderful satin dresses on,” Packham said. “I borrowed the colors and mood from there.”

Does Packham know yet which stars will be wearing her designs on the Oscar red carpet on February 24? “I don’t get my hopes up,” she replied. “Even if they say they are going to wear [my gown], I don’t know for sure.” We asked about which award season trends we will see at the Oscars. “I think what we’ve seen are a lot of strapless looks, which is a sort of predictable glamorous look. What I’d like to see is what we tried to do with this show, which is to play the hair and makeup down a bit to keep it fresh and young. If you’re going to dress up with a nod to old glamour, try to do something modern with it.”

WWW.HOLLYWOODREPORTER.COM - Ben Lewin will direct “A Moment to Remember,” which is based on a Korean film inspired by a Japanese TV show.

Katherine Heigl will star in the romantic drama A Moment to Remember, a feature remake of a Korean movie that will be director Ben Lewin’s follow-up to his acclaimed drama The Sessions.

Scott Pictures will produce and finance with Sobini Films; Film 360 is also producing. Scott Pictures, which is prepping Lynne Ramsay‘s Jane Got a Gun starring Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender, will be selling the film in Berlin.

The animated feature The Nut Job has drawn a voice cast that will be led by Katherine Heigl, Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Stephen Lang, Sarah Gadon, and Jeff Dunham. The feature, which Peter Lepeniotis will direct based on his 2005 short film Surly Squirrel, is a co-production between Canada-based ToonBox Entertainment and Korea-based Redrover Co, Ltd. Redrover is financing with plans to release next year.

Written by veteran Disney animation scribe Lorne Cameron (Brother Bear, Over The Hedge), The Nut Job is an action-packed comedy set in the late 1950s in fictional Oakton. Pic follows the travails of the mischievous squirrel Surly and his rat pal Buddy as they plan a nut store heist that gets out of hand.
